Software Development - CAD
Crown Van Configuration
Developed a Visual BASIC and AutoCAD based configuration and quotation system for commercial custom vans. Product relationships and rules were implemented in a database allowing user maintenance of product lines. Components are selected based on van geometry and checked for interferences and dependencies with other components. Renderings of completed vans are automatically generated in AutoCAD or AutoCAD Lite.
Plotware
Designed, developed and maintained a DOS and Windows based client-server plotting program that was used by thousands of AutoCAD users in North America and Europe. The software was developed using C++ and provided a plot server to process and spool plots off-line. Queue management options like scheduling and prioritizing were included as well accounting and statistical reports, user and project defaults, and configurations for different plotters. Support was provided for parallel plot servers and plotting to devices at remote locations.
LSI Lighting Configuration
Developed a lighting configuration and quotation program for LSI running inside AutoCAD. The system would automatically calculate and render the required equipment for building perimeter lighting including lamps, cabinetry, covers and electrical components based on the building geometry.
GA Gray Cabinetry
Designed CAD application software for parametric design of electrical cabinets and name plates in Pascal. Maintenance of a UNIX based CAD network running Autotrol software.
Conveyor Design
Development of an AutoCAD based converyor design system using custom menus and Autolisp programming and ObjectARX objects.
CAD Document Management
Designed and developed a NetWare based CAD document management system for AutoCAD using the C language. The system provided for document locking, revision control, maintenance of symbol libraries and project XREF’s, and drawing search capabilities. It also provided an interface to manage user accounts and project rights.
